The fairs Ambienta, ArhiBau.hr, Art Zagreb, Hotel&Gastroteh and the festival Zagreb Design Week were opened at Zagreb Fair.
Until Sunday, 1 October, in 8 pavilions covering a total area of 18,000 m2, visitors will be able to see the news from the fields of architecture, construction, furniture and interior decoration, design and art, and the HoReCa sector with one ticket.
AMBIENTA, the International Furniture, Interior Decoration and Supporting Industry Fair, celebrates its 50th jubilee this year as an unavoidable destination to bring together all the best in the field of furniture production, interior decoration and supporting industries.
During the six days of the fair taking place in pavilions 7A, 8A and 9, renowned furniture manufacturers, designers, business and creative people and those presenting their brand for the first time will tell the most beautiful tale about interior decoration, trends in exterior design and the redesign of residential and office spaces.
The story of interior and exterior design and furniture will be complemented by the Hotel&Gastroteh fair, featuring catering and hotel equipment of the HoReCa programme, which is a response to a growing offer of novelties in the field of tourism and catering, especially in terms of construction, equipping and modernizing of catering facilities, hotels and apartments. This business fair will show the best our market has to offer - furniture, equipment, appliances and inventory, systems for ecological treatment of waste materials, products and raw materials for bakery and confectionary, cleaning and hygiene products, digital systems for the tourism and hospitality business.
Renata Suša, Zagreb Fair Director, emphasized: "It is Ambienta's birthday today - the 50th edition in a row! Let's celebrate together! The great jubilee of the International Furniture, Interior Decoration and Supporting Industry Fair will be the unavoidable venue this year as well, where all the best in the field of furniture production, interior design and related industries will get together. During the past 50 years, Ambienta has become synonymous with the furniture fair, with tradition, the warmth of home and new beginnings. So far, it has featured a number of well-known and renowned companies on the Croatian and world scene and will continue to do so in the future, for that is its task and its mission.
Over the years, Ambienta has become a movement for the Croatian wood industry, positioning itself as a communication platform for all related industries that deal with aspects of housing, furnishing and decorating of facilities, as well as special offers for the catering and service industry".
On behalf of Art Zagreb and Zagreb Design Week, Daniel Tomičić addressed the audience: "Zagreb Design Week is for the first time at Zagreb Fair and we can really say that we are satisfied with this location, where, in my opinion, Zagreb Design Week belongs. We have a series of exhibitions, namely the Zagreb Design Week Award, an international design award where you can see the finalists' works, an exhibition of 9 colleges and schools, a Market where designers present their products."
"In the coming days, we will hold an interesting professional conference on this venue featuring topics on future's habitat and even more about the habitat's future. This is a thesis that we need to think about more specifically. I am satisfied that from the initial idea of creating a fair to gather the entire construction and architecture sector, we have managed to expand into the areas of furniture, interior decoration, design and art," said Tihomil Matković, president of DAZ, Zagreb Society of Architects.
Renata Ojurović, Director of the Directorate of Forestry, Hunting and Wood Industry at the Ministry of Agriculture: "Ambienta, a trade fair institution with a long and successful tradition, has the status of one of the most famous Croatian events in the field of design, new products and interiors, and over the years it has become a place where production, architecture and construction are intertwined, as they are natural partners in the chain of creation of new products. Such a naturally united event opens up new opportunities for our producers, and the contribution of the government of the Republic of Croatia will continue to be the creation of a strategic framework for the development of the economy and financial support for entrepreneurs."
Majda Burić, Envoy to the President of the Croatian Parliament: "Thank you for everything that is done at the Fair for the economy, workers and Croatian society as a whole. Even in the most difficult times, the government supported the Croatian business community and thus preserved 800,000 jobs. The government's preservation of economic stability and cohesion is also reflected in the fact that it secured more than seven billion euros through five aid packages for the economy and citizens. However, even during the pandemic, the government knew how to preserve jobs. The Croatian business community evaluated all of this positively."
Velibor Mačkić, Envoy to the President of the Republic of Croatia: "As a professor of political economy, I like to think that I deal with economic architecture, how institutions are set up, what incentives are given to economic agents and what limitations we see in this, that goes into the area of debate. The message I want to send is the importance of design and innovation, and the need to reach the centers of the European Union, and this is possible if we find niche and innovative solutions to get noticed. Space and how we manage it is our most important resource on which we depend, and it is important that experts and the academic community take care of it. I believe that the exchange of opinions is a step forward, that is why it is important to have trade fairs and to talk, to have a place of cooperation."
Ambienta was inaugurated by Lana Križaj, Head of the City Institute for the Protection of Cultural and Natural Monuments, and on that occasion she pointed out: "Zagreb Fair represents the lifeblood of the economy of Zagreb and Croatia, and thanks to its synergy and innovative approach, for the next six days it will host five large and well-attended fairs. Ambienta is celebrating the respectable fiftieth anniversary of the prestigious and important international fair, which over the years of its existence has had a significant impact on the success of the domestic wood industry."
Working hours of the fair: 11:00 - 20:00 h, all outdoor events are open until midnight. The price of a daily ticket to all events is EUR 7/HRK 52.73. All visitors to buy the admission ticket can take part in a prize game with a rich fund.
