The fairs CROAGRO, International Fair of Agriculture, Agricultural Equipment and Machinery and Food and Healthy Living Fairs were successfully closed at Zagreb Fair.
They attracted more than 350 exhibitors from 26 countries this year. The events offered a multitude of innovations, new technologies and products that support sustainable agricultural development, healthy nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.
"The slogan 'The Fair that Agriculture Deserves' perfectly captures the essence of the CroAGRO Fair, which this year offered the latest technologies in agriculture, advanced machinery, equipment and digital solutions that improve productivity. Visitors had the opportunity to see the latest models of tractors, harvesters and attachments, as well as an offer of everything needed for successful work in agriculture. With a strong presence of foreign brands, the CroAGRO Fair was a platform for connecting Croatian agricultural machinery manufacturers with the market and for further increasing their market share," said Renata Suša, Zagreb Fair Director, at the opening ceremony.
The fairs were opened by Assoc. Prof. Velibor Mačkić, PhD, Special Advisor for Economics and Envoy to the President of the Republic of Croatia, who highlighted the importance of Zagreb Fair in the life of the city. "It is a great pleasure for me to be at Zagreb Fair again. Zagreb Fair has always been the vital spark of this part of the city. I like the slogan of the fair, but I would add that this event is what is expected and what Croatia really needs," Mr. Mačkić said, emphasizing the key role of agriculture in the Croatian economy. He also accentuated the presence of young people and two faculties, Zagreb and Osijek, which are thematically connected to the events at the fair.
The fairs devoted great attention to expert lectures. Among more important events was the conference "Digital Agriculture and Climate Change", in cooperation with Poslovni dnevnik and Zagreb Fair, which featured the project "Strizivojna - The First Digital Village in Croatia". Current challenges for Croatian agriculture were discussed at the round table "A Social Insight into the Collapse of Agriculture and Alternative Policies for Agricultural Development".
Food and Healthy Living Fairs are recognized as the central national event dedicated to food, health and return to nature. This year, nine Croatian counties presented the wealth of their family farms, and visitors had the opportunity to taste local products and, in addition to traditional ones, get acquainted with some new flavours.
The novelty is Cheese Fest, the first festival of cheese and dairy products, which attracted a large number of lovers of this delicacy. In addition to the rich offer of cheese varieties, a professional evaluation of cheese and dairy products was held by experts from the Faculty of Agriculture under the expert guidance of Prof. Samir Kalit, PhD. The champion in the soft/semi-hard/hard cheese category is Vesna Loborika d.o.o. for Rici, hard cow milk cheese. The champion in the category of cheese in oil with or without additives is Mini dairy Veronika for cocktail peppers filled with Kajmak. A total of 8 gold, 16 silver and 13 bronze medals were awarded.
Chocolate lovers were also not left out, as they had the opportunity to taste a variety of chocolate delicacies, and the offer was adapted to all tastes. The trademark of the Food and Healthy Living Fairs have always been numerous educational lectures and workshops. Among the most interesting contents were lectures by Denis Beroš on blood type diet, the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Croatian Beekeeping Federation, a meditative vigil with gongs and a lecture by Krešimir Mišak on time travel.
The fairs once again demonstrated their importance as a key platform for networking producers, experts and all those interested in the future of Croatian agriculture and healthy living, and as an opportunity to further improve agricultural production and food in line with the latest global trends and technologies.
