Today Zagreb Fair saw the opening of Ambienta, 51st International Furniture, Interior Decoration and Supporting Industry Fair and ArhiBau. The fairs will be open until Sunday, 20 October.
Ambienta is the leading event for all lovers of furniture, interior design and furnishing of spaces. During four days, it will gather all key stakeholders from the wood industry and the world of furniture - manufacturers, designers, businesspeople and end customers.
The fair will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest trends and technologies in home and office furnishing. Visitors can expect a diverse range of products: from high-end furniture, kitchen and bathroom solutions to decorative and functional elements such as lighting, windows, doors, floors and garden furniture.
This year, Ambienta is transcending the boundaries of traditional fairs, introducing an innovative project in collaboration with leading cultural institutions. In partnership with the Klovićevi dvori Gallery, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MSU) and the Ethnographic Museum, part of the fair programme will be featured in these museums. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy both the exhibitions and Ambienta with only one single ticket that allows access to exhibitions in one of the three mentioned museums.
Renata Suša, Zagreb Fair Director, stated at the official opening: “Over the years, Ambienta has changed and evolved, following the rhythm of time and progress, while always preserving what is most important - the blend of tradition, quality, and innovation.
We are continuously striving to position Ambienta as the central national event for featuring the exhibition segment and networking, as well as a venue for creating trends and exchanging ideas. Our efforts have been successful because we are constantly dedicated to raising quality and strengthening the brand, and at the same time respecting our heritage and introducing innovations that will keep our fair relevant and attractive.
This approach has been recognized by many renowned companies. With over 150 exhibitors, including Meblo Trade, which has returned after 15 years, Ambienta provides the best insight into the future of furnishing and design.“
Tihomil Matković, Programme and Organizing Committee President at ArhiBau Fair, in his speech referred to the ArhiBau 2024 Conference - “The Housing of Future“. “The topic of this conference is the future of housing with a special focus on affordable housing. We can ask ourselves key questions: What models of affordable housing can be implemented in Croatia while simultaneously meeting both social and market needs for housing, and what successful examples from European countries can we apply in our context.“
Tomislav Tomašević, Mayor of the City of Zagreb, emphasized: “Zagreb Fair is the cradle of modern economy in Zagreb and Croatia that will soon celebrate 115 years of tradition, nearly 70 of which have been on this venue. The history of Zagreb Fair predates this space in New Zagreb, which was envisioned and realized by the great Zagreb mayor Većeslav Holjevac.“ On this occasion, Mr. Tomašević also highlighted the significance of Ambienta’s tradition that has been ongoing for 51 years, noting that not many fairs in the world on this topic have lasted more than half a century.
The welcoming address was given also by Mirjana Čagalj, Vice President of the Croatian Chamber of Economy for Construction and Transport, Renata Ojurević, the Envoy to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, and Nikolina Brnjac, Member of the European Parliament.
The fairs were inaugurated by Branko Bačić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets: “Fairs are primarily intended to be the meeting point for the business community, especially for exhibitors and their customers. This is the purpose of both Ambienta and ArhiBau today. What trade fairs represent now is a step further—they bring together policymakers, professionals, the academic community, and certainly the business community, which has valuable insights to share with us who are shaping policy in Croatia.“
Working hours of the fair: 10:00 - 19:00 h, except for Sunday, when the fair is open until 18:00 h. The admission ticket price is EUR 7. Visitors who buy the ticket will be able to participate in a prize game and win valuable prizes.
